Uganda and Tanzania both make this pairing easy: a gorilla or chimpanzee trek in the forest, followed by several days chasing elephants, lions and the wider Big Five across savannah parks like Queen Elizabeth, Serengeti or Ngorongoro Crater. The terrain shift alone makes for a more varied trip than either activity alone.
