Away from the rainforest, savannah baboons live in large, highly structured troops across the open plains of Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda’s savannah parks. This tour usually runs as part of a wider game drive, since baboons share the same landscape as elephants, lions and antelope rather than needing a dedicated forest excursion.
Troops can number in the dozens, and their behaviour, grooming, foraging, discipline from a dominant male, is easy to observe from a vehicle at close range, making this one of the most accessible primate encounters we offer.
