African Primates started as a small guiding outfit built by people who already spent their working lives in these forests as rangers, researchers and trackers. Most tour companies sell a country. We sell a very specific kind of morning: sitting seven metres from a wild gorilla family, or following a chimpanzee troop through Kibale by ear before you ever see one.
We work across eight countries because the primates do not respect borders, and because a good itinerary should follow the animals and the seasons rather than a single national park brochure. Every trip we run is built around small groups, permits secured well in advance, and guides who know the individual families and troops in the areas we visit.
